A Place Like No Other
The Palos Verdes Peninsula is one of the most beautiful places in the U.S. Its name, Spanish for "green sticks", is a true but modest statement. Palos Verdes is more of a paradise. It is as though the whole peninsula is a botanical garden, with beautiful Mediterranean plant life, tall eucalyptus trees, amazing homes, and horse ranches, all within the borders of Los Angeles County.
The Palos Verdes Peninsula is made up of 4 separate cities. From largest to smallest these cities are Rancho Palos Verdes, Palos Verdes Estates, Rolling Hills Estates, and Rolling Hills. In total the peninsula has approximately 65,000 residents. Each city has its own beauty and uniqueness. Be it Malaga Cove of PVE, the Point Vincent Lighthouse of RPV, the Promenade on the Peninsula mall of RHE, or RH with its lack of street lights and its wide equestrian paths along the quite roads.
With spectacular ocean and city views, high cliffs, countless horse and hiking trails, beautiful scenic drives, distinguished schools, libraries, museums, and amazing architecture, it is truly one of the most unique places on earth.
P.V. is an oasis, so different from, and seemingly far away from, the crazy city atmosphere of Los Angeles. Yet it is still just 30 miles or less from Hollywood, Disneyland, the Getty Center, Chinatown, Downtown, Malibu, Staples Center, Hollywood Bowl, etc. You get the picture. Most people live on the hill to get away from all that, but are happy they can drive down to enjoy it as they wish.
